On Sunday the 2nd of June, St Saviour's will be celebrating their patronal festival and after the morning service (10-11am), we will be having a bring and share lunch in the church hall. All are welcome, bring something to share! Hope to see you there.

Christian Aid Week Film
This year's film features Tenneh Bawoh, a young mum, and Nurse Judith Lassie in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is the world's most dangerous place to give birth. Ten women die giving birth every day. Jebbeh's Story: Christian Aid Week
Jebbeh is heavily pregnant. As her baby grows, her joy is overshadowed by fear. Recently, Jebbeh’s sister, Fatmata, was pregnant in a village nearby. Due to a chronic lack of healthcare, her sister had no choice but to walk for three hours, under the baking sun, to the nearest hospital to give birth. An installation of 150 baby grows is on display at St Martin in the Fields Church in London from 10-18 May. The display illustrates the stark reality that a woman is 150 times more likely to die in childbirth in Sierra Leone than in the UK. The installation raises awareness of the shocking maternal death rate as part of Christian Aid Week. Use the hashtag #Standup4Mums to add your voice on Social Media. Christian Aid Week
Today marks the first day of Christian Aid week. Ways in which you can support this cause will be posted throughout the week. The first way is by signing this petition online to drop Sierra Leone's debt: https://www.christianaid.org.uk/christian-aid-week/campaign-petition-drop-sierra-leone-debt Sierra Leone is burdened with debt following the Ebola crisis. Sign our petition telling the Chancellor it must be scrapped. More information is available from the link above.
